Neoliberalism (and I have to say that I find it remarkably amusing that my spell checker does not recognise the term – what would Chomsky have to say about that little factoid?) holds that anything that hinders the free operation of the market is by definition counter to the effective development of the economy and also anti-democratic. What I got was a critique of the effects of neoliberal economic theory.
